Remove the Messes, and Clutter – Getting the House Ready to for your move
Clutter is overwhelming, you feel as though you don’t know were to start.
Remove as much “stuff” as you can – quickly. Even if it means renting a dumpster – This may sound like a drastic move but, be brutal, if you’ve not used it in a while, it should either go to charity or the dump.
Begin in one room, be systematic, create a plan and stay with that plan. Each room is different, so adjust your plan accordingly. Pick up an item and ask yourself:
- Are you worth keeping and moving?
- Is this item REALLY important enough to go to all this trouble and expense to pack up?
You are going to be so surprised, at how many items you can actually do without. This is the key to getting the house ready for your move.
Only keep the stuff you absolutely love and use just quite regularly.
Get rid of all the clothes you don’t wear, and try to only keep the “keepsakes” and memorabilia that REALLY are keepsakes. We all have a lot of items that may remind us of a small event, or our college apartment or the like, but is THAT really an important memory? It may be, if so, keep it, but if it’s just a memory without real significance, then get rid of it and move on.
